Fashion shoes for a very important “step”..

Finally and without a shadow of a doubt, I can officially declare that shoes for the brides have taken their “beautiful” comeback!
Until not long ago, the shoe for the bride was simply regarded as a mere accessory – mostly anonymous, nearly invisible and absolutely not usable after marriage.

The new (and wonderful!) trend sees the shoes as a main accessory for all fashion brides.
What better occasion than our wedding to allow ourselves a piece of haute couture?
If then we invest in shoes, the choice could be very crafty, an investment to be worn even after the great day.
Surely you will find someone advising you not to exaggerate with the height of the heels because the day, although fun, will be in any case a hard day.
You will never hear me say such a false statement!!
Recently, the high heel has celebrated its 500 years. According to some sources, Mona Lisa wore the first high heel in 1507 at the behest of Leonardo da Vinci, who wanted to portray a more slender and sensual figure.
According to other sources, the first high-heeled shoes was selected in 1533 by Catherine de ‘Medici, in occasion of her marriage to the Duke of Orleans (1533).
Subsequently, the heel became very popular during the period of the “ancient regime” in France, and not only among the ladies:
Louis XIV (The Sun King) used to order that his heels be decorated with battle scenes
Seen the scarce practicality of shoes with heel, the poorest classes didn’t use to wear them; the conception of high-heeled shoe as a distinctive sign of belonging to an elite is dated back to this popular condition.
In general, the high heel has always been considered a symbol of authority, wealth and prestige; in the 16th century in Italy women of the upper classes used to wear ultra-high platforms. The same happened with the Japanese Geisha during their famous dancing performances or during the famous tea ceremony.
In short, given that marriages are the cradle of traditions, we can’t disregard completely the high-heeled shoes tradition, which is dated back to many years, as I just explained.
Returning to our times, as the tradition says that a bride should absolutely take with her four distinctive objects – something new, something old, something lent and something blue – nothing could be better than the famous “Something Blue” by Manolo Blahnik (Sex and The City docet)! You will satisfy a whim, enrich your shoe rack and respected the tradition!
With similar shoes it will be unthinkable not to use it for some glam occasion: in this perspective, the crazy amount spent to buy them will be justified….
And if you will need a footbath at the end of the day?
Patience, you will have at hand your new and sweet husband, who undoubtedly will think of a nice regenerating massage…
However, remember my dear brides:
There is no fashion shoe without any victim!

Ciao Paola,
